MT gear-cutting solutions for CNC Lathes at JIMTOF 2026

MT showcased its toolholders at the 33rd edition of the JIMTOF trade show, held in Tokyo from October 26 to 31, 2026.

With the support of Keiji Onari, President and CEO of M-N Tooling—MT’s exclusive dealer for Japan—we welcomed visitors, answered their questions and analyzed their specific turning requirements.

MT’s gear-cutting toolholders, in particular, drew significant attention:

• Power Skiving Module for internal and external gear cutting, even near shoulders, with reduced cycle times;

• Driven Gear Hobber Module for external straight and helical gears, performed directly on the lathe;

• Driven Broaching Toolholder for internal and external gears, as well as keyways, directly on the lathe.

There was also great interest in the MT-TPS Touch Probe Shield, a device designed for in-process measurement that protects the measuring probe from chips, dust and coolant.
